Laser eye surgery

OCL provides an unrivalled service, performing various advanced laser procedures with state-of-the-art technology for eye conditions including myopia (short-sightedness), hypermetropia (long-sightedness), astigmatism, and presbyopia (reading vision problems).

What is laser eye surgery?

Laser eye surgery is a term used to describe a collection of procedures

It commonly corrects short-sightedness (myopia), long-sightedness (hypermetropia), astigmatism and reading vision problems (presbyopia).

Different techniques are used to correct each condition. These corrections are achieved through the use of a laser which reshapes the cornea (the transparent part) and adjusts the focus of the eye. Laser eye surgery is a brief procedure and is entirely painless due to the application of anaesthetic drops.

Types of laser eye surgery

There are several types of laser eye surgery available and the best choice for you will depend on your own individual eye health, medical history and personal preferences.

Technology

At OCL we’ve invested in the worlds most technologically advanced lasers for their precision and safety.
The Zeimer Z8 femtosecond laser has the highest laser repetition rate of any femtosecond laser and overlapping, precise spots with very low pulse energy.

The SCHWIND AMARIS 1050RS is the world’s highest-performance eye laser system for refractive and therapeutic corneal surgery. It brings together the most advanced technology in existence. With its repetition rate of 1050 Hz and its unique 7D eye tracking, it offers unmatched speed, precision, and safety for laser eye surgery and vision correction. Schwind SmartSurface is the most advanced surface laser eye surgery with fast healing times than LASEK and PRK. The laser also allows topography-guided treatments for unusual corneas.

We are the first clinic in the UK that offers this cutting-edge combination for laser vision correction.
